I have a Netgear WNR834bv2 Wireless Router, up until recently, photobucket was accessible from my computer, then several weeks ago, the site became unavailable. The weird part is, some images are still visible from their site, for example, if I goto the Safes section of arfcom, several images from one persons post is available, but not all. And I can't access the photobucket homepage. I've checked the router configurations, it's not showing anything is blocked, and I've even performed a factory default reset on the router to no-avail. I've unplugged the router and plugged directly into the modem, and the issue is no longer present.
This issue is on all computers in the home, using all variations of browser. One more thing to note, if I bring up the Netgear GUI to download updates, it shows that the router is not connected to the net. What can I do to solve this issue? Thanks in advance, Zach |

Can you load photobucket by IP address? Put 209.17.74.21 in your web browser and see what happens.
Edit- my thoughts for asking you to try connecting to photobucket by IP address....My brothers netgear router recently got hacked and whoever did it changed the DNS servers on the router to a server in Russia. The bogus DNS server was directing him to a bunch of SPAM sites etc. I know you said you factory defaulted the router but double check the DNS servers on the router and make sure they are legit (ISP DNS servers). |

Unfortunately I cannot access it via IP address, I didn't mention it, but I did try that. And I do have the DNS specified on my router, and if I run Wireshark with photobucket.com, it's resolving it to the correct name. Weird thing is, yesterday afternoon, for some reason, Photobucket started working on it's own. Then this morning, figuring who knew what the hell was going on, I changed the channel to eliminate some interference in the neighborhood, and can no longer access it. I'm beyond baffled with this one.

Also as someone else mentioned, maybe the firmware is bad. |
