| What type of boot do you prefer while on duty? |
|
In military police, I wore an AF flight line full boot with steel toes. I had picked them up at an Army post when I was on sea duty and doing flight deck, helicopter, work. It just seemed a good continuation to use them in military police both between being close to cars and if I had to kick someone. One day, however, the Senior Chief took me aside and told me that the young enlisted expect their officers to look officer like, sharp, crisp uniforms, and me wearing those boots around the office weren't helping. So I relented, agreed to a more appropriate shoe around the office .... but keep my boots for use if I went out in the field. _______________________________________________________ (Bond has just cut the laces on his boot to eject Necros into the sky. Walking into the cockpit, "What happened to Necros?"--Kara "I gave him the boot.", (w.stte), "The Living Daylights") |
Very comfy, and light too. I wore them all through the winter, never changed to a heavier boot. Worked great. Also, if you happen to have a G&G Bootlock ankle holster the zip up is great. |

Danner GTX - nothing more, nothing less! I have gone through 2 pair of them comming up on 5.5 years -waterproof -comfort -traction -shine up nice -tie fast ( i can tie them as fast as it takes other people to "zip" theirs up, no need for the side zipper IMO -THEY ARE QUIET!!!!!!!!!!!! ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ i have heard bad things about oakley, 5.11, Magnum "squeeking" while you walk on them after 3-5 months. TIP - i usually last about 1 year on the inside soles. spend 5-6 bucks on some Dr. S's gel inserts and get about another 1.5 years outa them. with Danner, you get what you (or your dept ) pay for!
