The Economist THE thorny task of comparing crime rates across the world is tricky because legal interpretations vary. Sweden's definition of rape is not the same as America’s, for example. Murder however should be easier to record because there is an identifiable victim, something that can be counted. But the way in which this is done in poorer, often more corrupt countries makes truly comparable statistics hard to pin down. I like the graphic |

Baltimore has been exclusively run by Democrat mayors since 1967. St. Louis has been exclusively run by Democrat mayors since 1949. All the other high crime areas in the US...Detroit, Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington DC, Miami, New Orleans, etc...have likewise been exclusively run by Democrat mayors for decades.

I always thought that St. Louis got worse when AB sold out to InBev. The city just seemed to have more homeless.
