Radiation testing against unknowing public.

I think the Atomic Energy Commission collaborated with Vanderbilt University in the 50’s to study the effects of radioactive materials being diffused across a placenta. Pregnant women were asked if they wanted to take vitamin drinks that would help them have a healthy baby. The “vitamin drinks” contained radioactive materials and there were loads of miscarriages.

WW2 internment camps top the list IMO as far as fucking over actual american citizens go. It wasn't just the japanese either who got fucked, even those with italian and german ancestry got thrown into the camps although in lesser numbers. But it's just mindblowing how the government can just completely fuck you over even with full citizenship rights.

The American Indian plight was a pretty dark moment in US history, but they werent nearly as innocent as revisionist history would have you believe. There was a lot of ass fuckery on both sides.

Poisoning prohibition alcohol. The bonus army. Washington marching against US citizens to enforce alcohol taxes...

There are a lot of moments where you look back and wonder how we weren't better than this.

I was going to say the way Indians were treated as #2 even though the tribes were no angels to each other prior to white settlement. Slavery, expert torture and genocide were not brought to the continent by Pale Face. The clash of a more technologically advanced culture with another would not have ended any other way, but the way the tribes were treated after having their backs broken was appalling.

Johnson's War on Poverty was likely the coffin lid on our collective freedom. The Patriot Act, the nails.

In the 18t century incorporating slavery into the Constitution in order to form the federation.
In the 19th century the civil war and the extermination of the natives and buffalo..
In the 20th century Involvement in WWI and prolonging the great depression.
In the 21st century, the patriot act, propaganda, rule by crisis

Putting American citizens in internment camps just for looking like the enemy (of course, selectively ones who were too few to cause a problem; nobody was going to stick Chester Nimitz in a camp for being German).

Treatment of friendly/civilized/peaceful Indian tribes was pretty unconscionable too.

Another, not mentioned as much, was likely that MK Ultra program. I'd read hints for years that the program was likely real. Watched a recent film about the Unibomber. They touched on that a good bit.  The FBI's most wanted man for years was likely made into the remote murderer that he became because of the mind fucking put on him by another government agency back while he was a teen. I find that entirely plausible these days.

worst thing I can think of off hand was the servicemen that the army closely exposed to nuke bomb tests during the 50's, actually made them march towards and into the over pressure immediately after the blast.

I've seen old video of those guys. Service personnel just standing in ditches with welding glasses and rad badges. Instruction was to watch the flash, then duck before the air blast hit. Jesus.  One of the big rumors was that most of those service member's records were "accidently" lost in that big fire in the early 70's. My dad's were lost in that one.

The worst I'd seen were of the Chinese after they got the bomb. They'd pop one and the video was of hundreds of Chinese calvary on a dead run charge on their steppe ponies into Ground Zero. They were drilling on charging in as a mop up crew to finish off nuked blast survivors.

The NFA of 1934 is actually one of them.

It was by no mere coincidence that the country's first, comprehensive, major piece of federal anti gun legislation corresponded exactly with the country's first, comprehensive, major socialist agenda (FDR's New Deal).

Whether you care about machine guns or SBRs or AOWs or not, the point is that the socialists revealed, for the first time, that taking (or greatly restricting) people's guns was going to be a major component of their agenda going forward.  And the reasons for that are very sinister.

This

It removed the representation of the state legislature from the fed govt and created the sole problem causing an out of control fed govt.

Everything from an unbalanced budget and unfunded mandates to giving money away in entitlements and foreign aid to unconstitutional laws including gun control and justices that shit on the constitution.

If senators did the bidding of the state legislatures, we would have an entirely different country right now.

and that would be a good thing.

The founders did not set up a popularly elected govt for a reason, and now we know the reason.

The northern states created the 16th amendment and are responsibly for the mess we have today.

The list is long. Collaterail damage is somewhat understandable, but there are many times the government violated peoples rights and did experiments where they knew people would suffer harm or die. Ruby Ridge and CIA experiments come to mind.

The single worst thing the US government has done to the American people has to be allowing women to vote, that decision is the root cause for everything bad going on in the country today, massive debt, broken family structure, perpetual government dependence, public school indoctrination, open borders, the rise of socialism and communism, etc... most everything listed in this thread.

for me personally the 1959 nuclear meltdown in chatsworth ca is the cause for my wife's cancer and just about every year I hear about 3 people from my neighborhood dying from some form of cancer.

the company doing work for the govt completely covered it up.

in the 80's when they started really developing that land all that soil got released into the air.

rocketdyne did a bunch of other stupid shit also, all these rich celebs clamoring to buy property in these areas and they don't even know they should really be after the govt over this and know guns are the least of their problems.

anything nuclear though is where we will get fucked because they will never admit to anything just expect us to die from it.

Long ago there was a event I was told of by some old timers that if true would be up there.  I have not found evidence to back it up so don't take this as fact but if you happen to be looking through old records maybe you could keep a eye for anything that proves or disproves this one. The story goes back in the 1930's a lot of Jews were getting upset about the lack of the current administration concern for what was happening to Jews in Germany. Plus the strict limits of Jews trying to leave Germany for the United States. Plus the pressure being applied by the State Department to convince all countries not to accept Jews. There was a lot of disgruntled talk. Then one night there were large raids across the country to catch illegal immigrant Jews. It was quick and they were deported very fast. The story is they were not illegal immigrants, they were citizens. It was to send a message. The message was received and lot of Americn Jews went very quiet. What makes it so horrible is of course those deported would most likely have ended up early on the list in Germany for the concentration camps. Old timers can tell some scary stories.
