| Watching Batman & Robin, had forgotten how bad it was. How did this crapshow get made? |

Aye. Superman v Batman has many faults. But it is not as bad as "Batman & Robin". Quoted:

Having not seen Superman v Batman yet, I can't comment on that- but who thought having Arnold as Mr. Freeze was a good idea in Batman & RObin? Or armor with nipples. http://images.amcnetworks.com/ifc.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/batman-and-robin.jpg |

I say a tie between George Cloony and Ben Affleck, and I say that never having sat completely through either of their movies.
Val Kilmer might have been good if his movie wasn't so terrible. Michael Keaton was the best movie Batman, IMO, primarily due to the 1989 movie. Christian Bale was very close competition but lost it due to the growly voice. Adam West isn't a fair comparison due to the different styles, although he certainly is better than both Cloony and Affleck. I fell I should throw this in there... Fuck Ben Affleck. |

| Adam West shouldn't be in here, since his Batman was done low budget and "campy." All comic characters were done "campy" in the 60s because the studios felt no one could take comic characters seriously. But since Adam West was here, I thought he was the worst Batman, and this was by design. |

I loved BvS, never understood the hate. I've seen it about 3 times. I'd always considered myself a pretty good judge of film before this departure from commonly held belief. Quoted:

I didn't really like Superman vs. Batman, but I actually liked how Afleck played Batman. He was playing a jaded and mostly burnt out Bruce Wayne. I thought he did a good job. Honestly, I thought Batman was the only really decent part of that movie.
ETA: I will say that a lot of the opinions are going to based on what you guys think of when you think of "Batman." I think of the really dark 1980s and 1990s Batman I grew up reading. But there have been variations on the characterization of Batman throughout the years. Different movies are going for different versions of Batman. The way Batman, the surrounding characters, and the nature of Gotham City were presented in Michael Keaton's two movies are by far my favorite. And Batman Returns has become probably my favorite movie of them all as I've gotten older--you were able to both hate and feel sympathy for pretty much every character at various times in that movie. |

Keaton did a great job. keaton was the best at the whole role: at getting to the core of both wayne and batman. it's a shame that the actors get the blame for the horrible writing and direction form the films between burton and nolan. any of those actors would have done an excellent job if given decent material. for example, kilmer would have crushed it in the dark knight trilogy (had he lost enough weight to avoid literally crushing it). and clooney could have nailed the burton batman/wayne. but keaton is still the best. |

Meh. There was stuff in it that could have been ok, but it felt like a jumbled mess. They should have focused on trying to make a good Batman vs Superman movie instead of trying to set up a "cinematic universe" agreed on all counts. i didn't think it was great, but it was much better than most people were ranting about, and downright entertaining. i half-expected something as awful as an x-men origin story. |

batman forever and batman and robin were the worst movies and batmans to date. Before that people didn't even know there was a version of the dark knight that sucked. In fact most of the resistance bale and affleck faced was due to the memory of those terrible movies.
Batman and Robin was worse because even after making a flick that had people going WTF they doubled down. Even Kilmer bailed and they still made it. |
