In your situation (work) 380 is best you can do.
I carried 380 when it was best I could do.
Now I'm not limited by work clothes.
9mm is smallest I carry.

best one can do =/= best one is willing to do

I can and do carry .380 every day.

Put rounds where they need to be until desired outcome is met. Repeat as necessary.

This philosophy is caliber independent.

Laughs in Shield 45 ACP . . .

With the small nines like the 365 or hellcat I don’t see why a 380 is needed. My daily carry is a larger pistol and I carry a 365 when I need to go undetected.

The LCP1 is my go to carry piece for Summer casual wear (T-shirts and cargo shorts) while on the water or working in the yard. Loaded with Hornady’s FTX self-defense load, I don’t feel tremendously under-gunned at all for likely defensive shooting distances.

Are there better choices I would prefer to have in my hand if I was forced to defend myself? Certainly. However, I can actually carry the LCP in my Summertime attire while I would probably leave my G19 t home. First rule of gunfights and all that.

I thought the P32 with 11 capacity and +p hard cast to be the best in an ultra small.

I talked to a guy a few days ago who was shot with a .380. After he killed the guy who shot him he says it hurt like hell.
That's not really what I'm looking for in a caliber

There are enough anecdotes like this to make a data set, and it doesn't look good for .380

Cost of .380 alone cancels it for me, plus I carry a gun to defend myself, not carry in my pocket like a Talisman...
If I do need a gun, Which I hope never happens....I want one I can fight and win with....Not some little 6-8 shot I fumble fuck with under stress and have to jam it into some one to make a hit with.

The pointy stick would give me better reach and penetration.

I've got a Bersa Thunder 380.  If there is no way to carry the LW Commander the Bersa gets the call.

I like the Bersa.  No way I'd get one of the new tupperware guns.

Real gun on hip + 380 in pocket should the larger gun fail or run out of ammo.
Small pocket guns are necessary for discreet carry, especially during summer time.

Strong enough for a .380, but made for a .45!

When I got my wife carrying and teaching her to shoot this is what I taught her. You keep pulling the trigger till the threat stops completely or the gun is empty.

380 with good ammo is only marginally less gooder than 9mm and exponentially better than a rape whistle.

I have a Ruger LC9s and a Keltec P32.  Not sure I see a need for something between them.

Absolutely. My most carried gun is a Makarov. 9x18 isn't precisely 380, but it's close enough you can't tell the difference.

I also used to carry a Rock Island 1911 in 380, before I sold it to a friend.

I carry a .380 about 5 days a week, but it's not the only gun I carry on those days.
