So in other words your asking if you should stay with your gf who has herpes?
Look at it this way. She let's you bone her. You get herpes. She dumps you. If you can find a way to not damage future prospects, then go for it. If not, then I would stay away from her water blisters altogether. A friend of mine who killed himself had herpes. He said that shit was painful. Eject. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

About 10% of white people have herpes. The majority of them do not know they have it.
About 30% of black people have herpes. The majority of them do not know they have it. You have probably slept with someone with herpes. You may have herpes and not see it. You may have given herpes to someone else. I find it amazing that she both knows she has herpes and she told you before shimmying down the fire pole. |

It's also illegal to drive 66 in a 65, and it happens about as often. |

I would pass personally. that's a LIFETIME of dick sores. LIFETIME of meds to cover it. LIFETIME
LIFE. The WHOLE THING FOREVER ALL OF IT LIFE SENTENCE. Your WHOLE life.... now lets say you take the religious approach: you decide no sex before marriage. You tell her that due to her condition, you won't have sex till your married. You date, you get your dick outta the way and you get to know her. She's fun, she shoots, she loves guns etc. You decide you want to spend the rest of your life with her. now it's a harder decision. if the cost of my wife was herpes, I'd do that in a no wait. Gotta think about it. LIFE. WHOLE.LIFE.LONG. Dick sores. Ok fine, I'd marry her if she came with it. but that's a big bet. And with divorce rates being what they are, chances are about 50/50 you come out with an alimony payment AND dick sores. It's just a lot to ask in my opinion.... |

You might want to get yourself tested to see if you already have it. As one of the other posters noted lots of folks have either HSV1 or HSV2 and never even know it- on a side note you can also get HSV1 on your junk although the outbreaks are typically much less severe and many folks don't recognize it for what it is. HSV2 is apparently much more painful than HSV1, no matter where you get it. Male to female transmission is easier than female to male transmission. HSV1 may provide some protection against HSV2 but the evidence is inconclusive and shouldn't be relied upon under any circumstances.
Provided you are negative I would probably pass- it sucks if she's an awesome person and the fact that she was up front with you about it indicates she's informed and honest as it's a deal killer for most folks. On the other hand if you decide to go for it know that infected persons can shed the virus for a period before and after the sores appear. Prophylactic Acyclovir can often keep it in remission but I'd still wear a condom and avoid sex if/when she starts to have prodromal symptoms until a couple of days after all symptoms have disappeared. You'll have to make your own decision but don't let it define the person, it can be worked around but know that if you do catch it it's for life, despite what some of the new age sites promise with oil of oregano treatments, etc. <--- Not a doctor and nothing I say should be construed as professional advice; I have some knowledge only because I have to do the annual STD presentations aboard the oil rigs I've worked on and had to deal with several patients who've come in for treatment including the dreaded "What the hell is wrong is wrong with my junk?" visit. |
