Aw...that's nuthin!  The Police had a GPS tracking device attached to Scott Peterson's pickup, the guy recently convicted of murdering his pregnant wife, one day the GPS tracked him going close to 400 mph!  In a pickup no less!

The prosecutor had a GPS expert come in to testify, turns out GPS really isn't as accurate as people think it is!

GPS are very accurate when properly used.  But the problem with max speed recording is when you turn the unit on when in motion.  When it first aquires a satellite it see you as 200 feet or so from your real position, then when it gets more sats it corrects your position quickly which makes it seem as if you moved very quickly.  
I noticed after turning my GPS on while at highway speeds it raises my max speed to around 220MPH

Just make sure to turn the GPS on before you start moving and you'll be fine.
