I don't see the fascination here with the XD platform, particularly given the Glock hate. I doubt I'd ever buy an XD. If one was given to me, I'd sell it to fund purchasing another handgun. ![]() Your pro-XD argument is succinct and taught me a lot. I'll be going to buy one tomorrow. |

| I have an XD45 and an XDm40. They are both great shooters...but...when I carry I just got to go with my Glock 23 due to the 'concealability' factor. If Springfield Armory would cut down on the grip length I would buy another one in a heartbeat. Until then my Glock 23 will stay by my side and my XD45 stays by my bed. |

The grip is the same size? Doesn't look too concealable to me. I like the XD series but just shortening the barrel won't help too much IMO. THIS! Why can't Springfield get that the grip is what matters for concealability. The standard XD is too long in the grip too. Chop the grip down to Glock 19 length or even a little shorter and it would be much better. |

I traded for a sub-compact 9mm awhile back. It was the most accurate little pistol I have shot for the size and I never had a failure to go bang. I don't like the mags. I think the mags are the bad part of it. Otherwise, its an awesome design. |

That's great to know, buddy. TTYL... Quoted: I don't see the fascination here with the XD platform, particularly given the Glock hate. I doubt I'd ever buy an XD. If one was given to me, I'd sell it to fund purchasing another handgun. I'm still waiting for the XDm10 damn it!!!! |

I have an XD 4-inch model (9mm) and an XDm .40S&W. Both are great guns and shoot reliably. Neither is good for concealability, IMO.
I handled a Springfield EMP at the last gun show and I really like it a lot. Much smaller and seemed to be a lot easier to conceal. They're not cheap at all. But I may just have to pick one up. I'm going to pass on the XDm 3.8. It's probably a good gun, I just don't want one. |

Because there is no equivalent Glock. We are talking about handguns, not brick shaped hand grenades. |

If you are referring specifically to the 9mm compact, probably not much outside of grip angle unless the XDm was priced less. XDm full size has capacity edge over the glock. In the 40 (if same as the xd) has a fully supported chamber and better stock sights, but costs more and less after market accessaries. |

Quoted: Quoted: <–––––––––––––––––– carries some for of an XD-9 daily. i dont think they're that hard to conceal. ![]() After finally getting a Crossbreed Supertuck, I think I could conceal damn near anything now. I have one for an Xdm 40 and its barely noticeable wearing a polo shirt tucked in. Amazing holster |
|
I'd rather have the full-length barrel and a compact GRIP.
the GRIP is the hardest to conceal (especially at 19+1) - with such a fantabulous design team... you'd think they'd know this already. My wife does love her full-size XD(m) however. I respect the simplicity, but now prefer the M&P series personally. |

Quoted: has anyone ever tried a grip chop on the xdm series? i know that they have been done on the regular xd's, but just wonder if the replaceable back straps would be a problem I don't think it would be too big of a problem for the redesign. They would just have to move the back straps up so that the grip safety fits in between the changeable back straps. |
