As a 28 year old I will be getting my first ever xrays on something other than my teeth tomorrow. Going in for a knee xray and they said to get there a half hour early. What should I expect? Am I gunna have to get butt nekked to do the xray or in one of those hospital gowns? I literally never go to the doctors so this is a new one for me. Although I think I have early arthritis.

I've had x-rays of my knees done while wearing jeans.

Anyone want to place bets on what it is? Basically my knee cap constantly is uncomfortable. Not pain, but just uncomfortable. It went from being just putting any sort of pressure or load on it to make it uncomfortable to just sitting at my desk with my leg bent uncomfortable. I am 28 I shouldn't have to deal with this fucking shit. Probably won't even be able to roll around and play with my kids one day at the rate this knee is going. If its arthritis I am fucked right?

Yeah not a great idea for detail. The seams show and will superimpose over area of interest. For a general impression for a obvious break maybe. Could hide a hairline though. Maybe they kept having you move your jeans around your knee?

The Nurse will throw a lead vest on you and then run for cover.  That should put you mind at ease.

Wear shorts, or they'll make you strip down to your unders.

Xrays are pretty basic, just follow instructions and they shouldn't take more than 10 minutes if they're doing an entire series.

Right before they put a big metal hook in your butt.

It's all very scientific.

Can you speak english to me lol.

When I do move it around I can hear and feel some cracking in there. Almost like rubbing two rocks together quickly.

Joint degeneration. All the stuff that separates the bone of the lower part of your upper leg with the bone from the upper part of your lower leg. It's wearing, compressing, shifting or torn possibly....

From your description it sounds like that. Chronic (as in long term progressively getting worse)? Or result from a recent injury?

Not recent. Chronic. It's gotten worse over a four year period and I am just doing something about it now. Is there a fix for it? I just want to be able to stay active and not end up having to hack my leg off or a wheel chair.

The scope of my knowledge is limited (I take pikturs with industrial grade medical machinery). For that kind of stuff I always defer to more knowledgeable people. (Yous asking the wrong guy).

Medical fixing stuff is great and getting better all of the time (I've actually been out of the biz for better than a decade).

They'll get all the info they need in the exams, figure out what's going on with you and then tell you what needs to be done. Knee/ joint injuries are not an uncommon thing. The medical profession has been coming up with continually better fixes for a long while. Capitalism- yes!!!!!!
