This is one of four hits I took.

Three benedryl, a we'll see where this goes.

Last wasp hit, I ended up laying on the floor wishing for death and feeling like I was going to puke and poop myself.

I feel like someone is sticking a big guage needle in all four spots and doing so over and over and over...

Any trouble breathing?

Three Benedryl? I suspect the couch or bed is where you'll end up.

No breathing probs.

That damn ice pick now is being pinched into each of the spots over and over again.

My wife made me come in and take a shower and sit down. No yardwork and this fuggerin hurts!

edit for spelling

Damn dude you're pretty allergic.

I weedeated into them last week.   Got popped between the eyes.

Rub diesel fuel on it, swelling and pain gone lickety split. This also works on poison ivy, etc etc.

I lucked out a couple of weeks ago when I was cutting brush. Reaching to pick up a pile, I yanked my arm back when I saw the yellowjackets buzzing around. Looking closely, I saw that the brush was laying on their nest in the ground that I had earlier passed over a couple of times with the lawnmower.

How I managed not to get stung is a mystery to me...

I got stung by one just under my nose, I knocked myself on my ass when I instinctively swatted my face with full force.
Miraculously I happened to drop the machete I was carrying in the process.

Nope, diesel doesn't work on me.

Pffft. Only 4 stings?

Man up. Hell everything I "discover" a nest of the damn things it's waaaay more than 4 stings.

Drink some water and take a knee.

And have a salt tablet.

If every time you get stung, the reaction is worse, you need to talk to a physician.
8/16/2014 1:20:31 PM EDT

I hate those damn things.

Last time I got stung was right in the ear cartilage, whoever said there is no nerves in ear cartilage is wrong. I had a hard spot in my ear for like a month or two.

3 benadryl? Yeah pepper your angus for the diphenhydramine seal.

Shit makes you rethink your landscaping goals doesn't it?

Last weekend I was taking a pole saw to some bushes that turned into trees and got popped 3 times by some 2" brown fuckers similar to these:

Came back later with some carb cleaner

This is the boat I'm in. Reaction gets far worse each time. Most recent one the pain went up the arm all the way across the chest and breathing was affected. Dr. said "You need to start carrying an epipen and stop getting stung."

Just got nailed on the lip about an hours ago.

The nest was immediately terminated with extreme prejudice and weapons of mass destruction.

Two benadryl has reduced the swelling.  Still rather unpleasant.
8/16/2014 1:55:24 PM EDT

Minor swelling because of the bennies, but the pain is horrendous.

I HATE those fuckers almost as much as Nobammy. Bastards have taken over my tractor / bushog more than once. I gladly gave it to em.

Wonder if we can replace waterboarding with Yellow Jacketing ???

A guy I work with went to move an old bicycle leaning against his shop and found some. He cupped his hand under the seat and picked the bike up, when he did he grabbed a yellowjacket nest the size of the seat. His hand was still puffy Monday morning.

THIS!
One may have been stung in the past with no major reaction, HOWEVER, that previous sting may have lowered your tolerance and the next one could be FATAL.

OMG the pain is horrendous.

Got an epipen, but I think the bennies took care of swelling.

Is there anything except for diesel to take this pain?????????????

Cold packs might help. That or 3 more Benadryl and 1/2 bottle of whiskey.

I use this for all insect bites and stings. It really takes the itch away from mosquitoes.

If you ever use an epipen, go see your doctor or the Hospital ASAP.
Epipens offer only temporary relief (~15 minutes). If you ever develop anaphylaxis, this is extremely important.

Dude I know bit into one that got into his sandwich. He had a reaction and passed out. Had to take an amberlampse ride and now has to carry an epi-pen. It was an exciting day.

Yeah, they have been buzzing me the past couple of days. I got three today with the wasp killer, and I had my wife pick up some pineapple to put in the trap.

Two years ago I got several hundred of those bastards in a trap.

Ever notice that once they're determined to nail your ass, you can't reason with the little bastards?

Expect throbbing pain all night. Try taking some ibuprofin, etc. before bed.  I took a paper wasp sting on the back of my bicep today. Hurt like a bitch for 15 minutes and then went away. The nest was on the underside of a palm branch. I am a beekeeper and honeybee and wasp stings pale in comparison to yellow jacket stings (at least for me). All stings on the face are very painful (doesn't matter what it is).

Anaphylaxis can kill you very dead ... I've known two guys who aren't here any more, and one who carried an epi-pen. (died of unrelated causes)

seriously a paste of meat tenderizer on the sting sites will help reduce the pain almost instantly..

I stepped in a nest of bees (whichever ones live in the ground) when I was about 10-11 or so.  I think we counted 34 stings on my legs and lower back.  Fuck bees!

still painful as hell.
The baking soda colloidal seems to give marginal relief.

ETA: drachek1 Thank your mother for some relief.

I saw one of those bastards flying around the ceiling in my bathroom yesterday. I was able to shoot it down with the spray from a can of tinactin where it landed in the shower acting all confused. A capful of listerine dumped on it killed it dead in a couple minutes. When I turned on the shower late last night it washed down the drain.

Listerine makes wasps unhappy.

The little bastards have been bad this year.  Night time raids on the nests are not helping as much as I would hope.

A few weeks ago I got nailed in the knee.  What kind of dickhead stings someone in the knee?  I still have a hole there and it still itches.

Got stung by a YJ last year when cutting trees for firewood. I started running when I saw the nest disturbed. One of those fucker's chased me for fifty yards and got me in the elbow. That tree is still laying where it fell.

And, just yesterday while rebuilding the deck on my mower, I went into my barn/garage and while getting a part, a fucking mad Dirt Dobber nailed me in the forearm. It stung worse than the Yellow Jacket. Now I itch like crazy were the swelling is. Need to put some more ointment on and take a couple more Ibuprofen.

all wasp hornets yj you name it get 87 if I see them

I substituted for my elementary school PE assistant Friday.  7 periods of 3rd or 4th graders with 75-90 students per group.  We had one class period where we didn't have any stings, the other 6 we had at least one sting.

One poor 4th grader was stung twice by hornets.

And this was even after we swept and cleared the playground with carb cleaner.

I have heard, that meat tenderizer works to neutralize the sting. Last time I was stung I put Clorox on it and it helped a lot.

You will probably feel a knot at sting sight for a few weeks.

Yellow Jackets contain a different protein in their sting than others. This can cause someone to have a different reaction to a YJ sting compared to wasp or bee.

And to the poster who got stung by a dirt dobber you are only the second case of this I have heard of, my daughter being the first when she was playing with it. They are apparently very hard to get riled up.
