Looks like FedEx is still hiring drunk/stoned monkeys to deliver packages. They still seem to have a hard time ensuring a package get to the intended recipient. I understand that they move a lot of cargo, and that mistakes will sometimes happen...what I don't understand, is... QUESTION #1: WHY DOES IT ALWAYS HAPPEN WITH MY STUFF?!?! I made a trade deal with a gent in TN for some big ticket items. (items in question are worth well over $1300 each) Against my better judgement, I shipped FedEx only because the gentleman in TN told me he prefers them over UPS. Fortunately, I insured my item. I've been in contact with the gentleman, gave him tracking information, and we have been in telephone or IM contact daily...We both know this trade is legit. Well, I find out this morning that FedEx delivered my expensive item TO THE WRONG F#$*ING HOUSE!!! (But they got a signature like I requested, so the driver isn't dishonest...just incompetent.) I know that they will either find the package and deliver, or reimburse me for my expensive item...that's exactly why I insured it. The problem is, I get a bunch of stress I didn't want or need until it gets resolved. If it's not located, I'm going to have to go thru their insurance company for payment--more hassle that I shouldn't have to go through, and really don't have time for. Oh, and it may take (get this) UP TO 9 MONTHS TO GET MY MONEY if the delivery monkey wants to dispute the claim. (the delivery monkey is responsible and has to carry his/her own insurance for these claims) I did everything right...I confirmed the address before I shipped. I ensured the counter monkey at FedEx wrote down the correct address. I put my information and intended recipient's information inside the box as well as the outside. I even paid extra for the packing peanuts! I ensured that the counter monkey also checked the right boxes (insured and signature required). I was even polite and pleasant while at the counter. QUESTION #2: HOW THE HELL DO YOU DELIVER A PACKAGE TO THE WRONG F@#*ING ADDRESS WHEN NAME AND ADDRESS IS PRINTED IN INCH HIGH LETTERS ON THE PACKAGE?!?!? QUESTION #3: WHY WOULD YOU DELIVER A PACKAGE TO AN OBVIOUSLY WRONG F@#$KING ADDRESS AND ACCEPT A SIGNATURE FROM SOMEONE WHO IS OBVIOUSLY NOT THE INTENDED RECIPIENT?!?!?! Never, never, never again will I use FedEx. For any FedEx employees whom I may have offended.... GOOD! DO YOUR F@#KING JOB AND I WOULDN'T BE RANTING HERE!!!!!! (actually, that's only directed at the idiot who handled my package--Memphis TN drivers, you reading? I'd appreciate it if you'd pass this rant on to your bosses because I'm going to give you as much bad word of mouth as I can...and I guarantee delivery on that!) Sincerely, Me |
Need to remember FedEX delivers many items to business. At a business the Recieving manager will sign for multiple items whethet his/her name is on them. Here at work 5 packages from fedex will have 5 different names on them but all signed for by one person. I'm not excusing his actions. The driver is responsible for the screw up - but delivering packages to several hundred stops a day is a gruelsome job and mistakes are inevitable. Hope this gets worked out for ya. |
UPS doesn't check names, either, for exactly the same reason. Getting the wrong address is inexcusable, though. |
| UPS dropped a Flowmaster cat back kit to the same address in the town next door. I had to do the detective work on that one to get my package back. They gave it back to me no problem, but what if some mofo decided that the 350 dollar exhuast kit was his. It would have been on then. |
| I just got off the phone with FedEx and the intended recipient--who, ironically was on the other line with FedEx. Still no love, and no idea where my Nightforce NXS scope went. I guess I could understand not verifying the signature if the package was shipped to a business, but it went to a private residence. Like I stated at the beginning of my rant, I realize that mistakes happen, but question #1 still stands. I have had shit for luck with FedEx--they have lost 3 out of the last 5 packages I've sent, and have repeatedly refused delivery to my house--but that's a different rant. They will not get another dime of my money. |
lol....yep. I gotta agree with you there. (Notice at the end of rant: I didn't refer to them as any kind of monkey until they delivered my package to the wrong address! I reserved the term 'Monkey' for after they screwed up!) ![]() Is that a gatling gun in your avatar? Cool! |
Maybe you should try DHL. UPS sucks big time and USPS is none the better. |
|
WOOHOO! They found my scope! It is on the truck being re-delivered, hopefully this time to the correct address. The folks running the gripe-line seemed a little amused that they were getting calls from both parties (me and the gent in TN) and commented on how fast the hub supervisors kicked the package location machine into gear. (I ranted and used profanity here, but I was polite and professional on the phone--you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. I even thanked them for their fast recovery action...but that doesn't mean I'll ever use them again) Thanks to those who talked me down from the tall tower. |
DHL is the group partly owned by the German government who bought AIRBORNE...the worst shipping company ever...so they could get a foot in the US door...Airborne made UPS and FedEx look like a bunch of smart, on the ball folks! |

I told an exec VP at Fed Ex that I was going to buy one share of his company's stock so that I could go to a shareholder's meeting and read off the list of the stupid shit that his division was responsible for in front of all the shareholders and the board of directors. That got his attention. FedEx is indeed staffed by a bunch of crap tossing spider monkeys. |
DHL makes Airborne look competent. DHL=Don't Hurry Late. |
