My compressor quit working in my outside unit of my heat pump.  Tries to come on but won't.  Fan spins freely.  Local guy comes out thinking he can just put some freon in it but it's full, then finds the compressor issue.  He quotes 1175 to put in a used outside unit, tht is newer than my existing unit, and probably more efficient.  I'm thinking I did OK but wanted to check on the price. that is turnkey on the 1175.

I think you did OK, I had a compressor replaced a few years ago, the bill was over $800.00 not counting the price of the compressor.
