My gun club is putting our first Zombie Shoot together on August 7th 2010 (Mayhem in the Mountains) and we are looking for some ideas of what you would like to see in the Me-Lee portion of the shoot.  The rest of the shoot will be a Tactical/Practical 3 gun event and we will have as many reactive targets as the budget allows.

Thanks 1Rhino

Fruit tied to ziplines going toward a center knot that a person stands under with a bat.

You could have like 8 lines set up in a circle going to a center knot, then each person with fruit lets out a moan before releasing fruit giving the guy in middle a little warning. He has to turn and connect with the fruit (zombie head).

I think you should leave the melee portion open to whatever people want to bring. Half the fun will just be seeing what people show up with! Just have some type of panel decide if it's safe or not once they get there.

They should add a "scare crows" with steel plates for heads.

Looks like a real fun course

We used this guy in our fall zombie shoot.  The shooter had to decapitate the zombie prior to engaging the targets.

Here are a couple of vids.

I like how you guys cut-out around the zombies, it would make scoring much easier (we were VERY new to using paper targets).  I'm planning on cutting out some steel zombie heads to mount in my plate rack set-up, and my knock-down plate (far left) (I've figured out a way to attach the body of a "Zombie Bob" to this one for better aesthetics).  I used 20 of the steel cowboys in one scenario as a large group of undead piling out of a country-western bar. (use what ya got)

It is a potato.  It worked like a charm.  There is a nail head sticking up from the zombie's body, and a piece of threaded rod that runs through the head.  The potato was held in place be being speared by the two.

I might be able to find a picture of the setup if you are interested.
