Just got settled in for the night and popped Zulu into the DVD player. I dont have enough fingers and toes to count the number of times I've watched it but it's just one of those movies you never get tired of seeing. Absolute classic.

Yep, a real good movie.

But I have it on tape and my VHS player has been dead for 4 or 5 months.

Maybe Friday I'll fight the Walmart crowd and see if I can find a cheap(er) combo player.

there's 2 older 1s that come to mind, zula dawn and another 1. 1 of them they defend a stone fort and some of the get away, the other 1 they get overrun and I don't think anyone gets away.

Me thinks you're thinking of Zulu and Zulu Dawn barkley-addict.

I've never seen Zulu Dawn but I think it's about the Zulu uprising just prior to the attack at Roark's Drift. This is the stone fort being defended in the movie Zulu.

It ends with the massacre at the beginning of "Zulu".  I have both, or course.

That's what I was thinking. Someday I'll have to pick up both on DVD.

Bought a Webley because of that movie.

ETA:  Picked up the DVD for $6 out of a bargain bin.

Zulu is the one with Michael Caine, correct?

I liked that one, excellent flick.  I recall Zulu Dawn not being nearly as good, but it has been many years since I've seen it.

First saw Zulu Dawn as a kid. I remember how I felt watching all those modern troops being over run by spear throwing natives. What a picture!

What a coinkydink. I've just started Zulu about 15 minutes ago. About 10 minutes before I came online.

My old VCR died abuot 5 months ago and found a new one for $40 at Walmart on Black Friday. I've been catching up on old favorites that I haven't seen in months.
