is this a WWI era GI web pistol belt? I dont see any markings, may have worn off?

Best bet is to look for a date or manafacturer code on the inside.

khaki color like that and not green, I'ld say ww1

the only thing I noticed that is odd, is that one buckle is made of brass, and the other side has a steel buckle [grey color]

Looks like an M1936 pistol belt to me. Pre WWII, post WWI. But correct for WWII.

That color was manufactured up till 44 for all items and 45 for some items.
