So our department has ok'd a rifle program! Hey, better late then never... Anyways, part of the transition training invovled .22 conversion kits as our in house range is not rifle rated. At the time this all started, kits were not that hard to come by. Now they are darn near impossible. Any tips on the best place to get in contact with for 5 conversion kits? Thanks in advance! |

www.22lrconversions.com/ Contact them on dept letter head. I'm sure they can find 5 kits for you. Have you considered dedicated .22 uppers? |

Thanks for the letterhead idea. We have thought about dedicated uppers, but we want everyone to be completely comfortable with the exact rifle that will be going in the car. While some know that it doesn't make a difference, we have a large group that just wouldn't get it. Also, there is the cost factor of kits vs. uppers. I know that it shouldn't make a difference, but there is a large number portion here. |
Oh I know all about large numbers and cost, etc.  If you go with the conversion kits pay extra attention to cleaning the bore really good. I've never experienced it and it might be urban legend but I read that prolonged use of a sub caliber kit will plug the gas port in the barrel. I always ran a mag of .223 through mine after using the sub cal kit. |
