I heard it didnt' use the .44 magum round but it's own version o f the .44 is that so?

Are there any semi-auto pistols that DO use the .44 magnum other than the Desert Eagle?

There was a guy at the last Knoxville show that had one on his table. It was in decent condition, some scratches. Had 3 mags. Wooden box. $1700

I think loaded ammo costs that much.  Starline sells the brass for about 40¢ each.

I think so, i was givin half a box of factory loads and a baggie of what looks like 308 cut down and was told its .44AM ammo

It was a .308 case cut to length where a .44 bullet would just fit. .44 Automag it was called.
