It was about the 3rd or 4th pistol I ever bought back in the late 70's.Every third or fourth (or fith or sixth)time I would pull the trigger it would lock up instead of going bang or clicking thru. By letting off preasure on the locked trigger and then pulling again it would mostly work om the second try. Gun went back to the factory twice and the shop where I bought it was willing to send it again but they gave me a decent trade for it (bought it back allmost.) Loved the whole idea of a fairly small big bore revolver in stainless. It was more or less cutting edge for a factory gun. Really really hated the actual POS gun that didn't work and the factory wasn't willing to make right |
What a gun - That light wieght sucker would buck and a LARGE hole would appear in whatever I shot at - given the range was 30 feet or less. I never had it lock up on me and it was the ole blued lightweight one. It replaced a short barreled Star .45 auto I had - that thing scared me as it rocked into and out of battery - so I loved my charter for protecting myself. I had a Smith 44 mag. but the 44 bulldog was the carry gun. I ended up trading it to a person who had a acute need for it and I have thought of replacing it about every ten years............I love the caliber and still have all the reloading dies and 1000 cast bullets for it. Damn, time to get another. I love revolvers - pull and pull again. Musta been those Westerns from the 60's......... |

I've shot one before. I managed to hold a 2 foot pattern on a four foot target from a 10 foot distance. The recoil was manageable but ridiculously hard. In my opinion - it's a novelty gun. There are other firearms out there that perform better in pretty much the same size package. Just my opinion.... |
