Ok so a silly remark in another thread got me thinking how many gun toting ARFCOMERs read the Potter books and watch the movies? Any of you actually got to the book premiers? How about the movies on opening day at midnight? I was introduced to the books during law school and was able to relate to a lot of the plot lines because of law school. (Our legal education system seems very British at times). My wife and I go see each movie at midnight (no kids then). I'm proud to admit my dorky-ness in my enjoyment of the world of Potter as I carry a large caliber handgun and am secure in my maturity and masculinity. ![]() Besides the final book next month and the 5th movie there will soon be a Harry Potter theme park opening in orlando (2009). So what do you think? (And I can't wait for the witchcraft bible thumpers to charge into this one!!!one11!!) |

I have not read any of the books or seen the movies in the theater but have enjoyed the movies on DVD in my own home theater. They're good flicks and a good story, period. I can't say ANYTHING negative about a series of books that actually gets our kids to READ and USE THEIR IMAGINATIONS. Or their parents, for that matter. Those are very positive things. As a general rule, people who read more are more interesting and have greater depth to their personalities. People who don't read at all (for recreation) are dull and boring. CJ |

I doubt I'll see it at midnight but I'm sure I'll go opening weekend and read the new book as soon as it comes out. I can hardly wait for the book, I've reread the whole series several times. For those of you who have just seen the movies, do yourself a favor & read the books, they are far better. I just found the Hi-Res trailers today actually, looks pretty awesome: Order of the Phoenix 1 & 2 |

I have read all the books and seen all the movies. I have not gone to the midnight premiere of any of the movies or bought the books when they were released, but I have seen or purchased them at the first opportunity. I have really enjoyed the books and the movies. The books are entertaining for adults as well as kids. Plus they make great night time reading. |
