What is the wire you had hooked up hooked to now?

nothing. grounding that wire should kill spark to the engine.

I think I cooked the coil, I have no continuity between the spark plug wire and ground, I'm reading that it should be 2500-5000 ohms.

I think you have to "Press 2 for Spanish" to get a response from B & S now.

Look online at both tractor mfgr's sites for wiring diagrams and match the wires up.
