America needs a competent enemy to foster competition. As the world's sole superpower, we foundered and lost our edge. In the 1950's and 1960's when the Soviet Union was a real threat, we were at our peak. I don't like Putin, but I respect him, and I believe that his existence will push us out of our comfort zone (which is apparently full of community organizers and bullshit). |
