... Just out of curiosity, I sometimes wonder if I'm getting screwed over by my well-known insurance company. ... You folks with say, two new cars and a motorcycle (I think that's fairly average) what are your rates if paid monthly? No tickets or claims. Where are you (anonymously) ... Poll coming |

A topic I can help with. I am a licensed insurance agent with licenses in 45 states. Anytime any of you guys want, email or IM me and I'll do up quotes for you for auto, home, motorcycle, renters, and boat insurance. I've saved people hundreds to THOUSANDS of dollars per year on their insurance with some of my companies I write for. BTW - if you have Geico, you are getting ass-raped. I always beat the snot out of them. Same goes for Allstate and State Farm. |
Yeah, but do you have cool commercials with Gecco's doing the robot?

A pillar (2), in dash (2), outboard seat bolsters (2), side curtain (2). Supposedly the safety system is only used on BMWs, and Black Hawks. |

About $57 per month for two cars. I pay about $690 annually in total I pay about 95 cents per day per auto (2 cars) for my auto insurance. '91 Vette convertible (I bought it new) + '88 4WD turbo Mazda 323 GTX rally car, 40 yrs old, continuous insurance with State Farm for 20 years, $1,000 deductible, Never had an accident, no tickets, multiple car discount, theft prevention, pleasure use, less than 5,000 miles per year per car, etc EDIT--OH, can't forget to mention that I do not have collision coverage. I figured out a long time ago, that I could pay for thousands of dollars of damage myself with the money I saved from no collision coverage--which means I don't get paid IF I am at fault--not gonna happen. After many years (maybe 9 years) of owning my Vette, I had paid $5,000 in collision coverage. I figured why keep on paying--I should have kept that money in my pocket. Of course I am an excellent driver, take care of my cars, and do all my own mechanical repairs. |
Oh yeah, I'd like to add that AAA will not insure my '68 Mustang due to "unsafe modifications." They thought my fuel cell was "NOS". And they said that the red 4-point harnesses looked too "race-like." And let's not even get into the roll bar, exterior mods, engine mods, carbon fiber dash with white face gauges... yeah it's a regular race machine.

How the hell do you get coverage with a suspended license? Impossible to do around here. Had to sign a waiver that the hubby wouldn't drive our vehicles when he was suspended for a not at fault accident and our insurance had lapsed. ETA less then $200 a mth on '97 Tahoe, '97 Saturn and a '98 heritage springer. 2 pts on my license for speeding. |
Sorry, should've made that clearer. I got that 18 months ago. Paid ~$200 fine and had my license suspended an additional month which just punished those who ended up giving me a ride to work every day. |
Single male, a Cadillac and a new 4X4 truck? Of course they consider you a liability. When I got married my rates went down. We've got Homeowner's, Auto, and Motorcycle all through State Farm, they were the most reasonable and I trust they'll be there if we need them. |
I have claimed thrice this year on my State Farm policies. Truck and boat went into the ditch totaling boat. Homeowners covering my storage unit burglary. I got a new paint job all the way around my truck. No aftermarket parts, try that from Geico. My truck policy will go up $450 over three years. After three years, it will go back down to the "no claim discount" price. My homeowners will cost me an extra $350 over three years, then go back down to the "no claims discount" price. I couldn't have sold my boat and trailer for what they paid on it.
Own3d! Sorry ColtM4. It is a rollover hazard, you know. You should email Greywolf2112 and see if he can treat you a little better. |

Comprehensive on a `98 Neon (hey - it was CHEAP!) 43 yrs old, no points, no wrecks, $250 deductable - $450 /year, and I think that's about double what it should be. I refuse to sink all my gun money into something as perishable as a car. I can't believe how much some of you throw out on insurance!!! Then again, I may just be compensating for about 20 years of spending nearly every dime I earned on cars..... |

Just so you know, I pay $738 a year on my auto insurance - with $100/$300/$50 thousand liability, no Uninsured motorist, $1000 comp and coll deducts on one 2003 Suzuki and liability only on my 96 Honda. No tickets, accidents, or claims ever. Home owner's (with same company) is $359 a year with $1000 deduct, on value of $109,000 and with $100k liability. Still too much in my book, but I've checked all my own companies and others and it is the best out there. |
