It's meaningless bullshit advertising. You could "air gauge" a barrel and it be completely fucked up but you still "air gauged" it Now if they said "air gauged to within .0001 of x (a standard for their barrels that could be compared to others)" that would be different. |

An air Gage has a probe with holes on each side that air is pushed out of that is just smaller than the hole you are checking. The Gage measures the pressure/resistance of the air coming out the 2 holes. You calibrate it by putting the probe in a known size ring, then insert it in the hole you are checking. The air pressure shows up as a line on the Gage. The line will show you what diameter the hole is and also concentricity if you turn the Gage.
