don't get it, very sad individuals. "hey look at me, I'm a weinie!" |
Airsoft does seem like a lot of fun. I'd like to get into it on a limited basis. Fiero where do you live? Is there a community for this in your town? |
Im outside of Tyler. We used to have a team that would go to bigger games in Dallas, but we broke up cause they all went off to college. There some big teams in Dallas, San Antonio and the Austin area. I wish I had time to really play again as it's good exercise and also is good at learning team work. Ive been to 4 BIG games (170+ people) and we all acted right and only a few people that was bad with pointing at people in the "rest" area and they were promtly told to stop or leave. Safty is a big issue in the big games cause who ever sponsers it has to have insurance on everyone, it's down right expensive. |
I don't own an airsoft gun for time being, but think Ill buy one and put some nice expensive shit on it just to piss people like you off. And dressing up in your tactical gear and playing soldier boy with your ar-15 makes you what exactly? |
Heck anything that shoots is fun, be it a slingshot or a cannon. |
| Who here really plays airsoft and understands the history behind it? Airsoft is essentially a version of paintball. One of the rumored beginnings of paintball was that cowboys were bored and decided to play a shoot out with their paint marking guns. If people want to dress up and simulate missions, I say go ahead and let them. After all, I think it is much more practical and fun than running around in brightly colored clothes shooting 25 balls per second out of a paintball gun. Airsoft was invented in Japan as a replacement for the real steel. Gun control in Japan is crazy tight and it is their version of gun ownership. Airsoft eventually migrated to Europeans and eventually over here to the States. What is it exactly that people hate about airsoft? |
+1 I am geting my 2 boys M4 airsofts for Christmas and will probaly have to get one for myself to play against them Maybe an AK"This is the Airsoft AK47, the preferred weapon of your enemy. It makes a distinct sound when fired at you" pifft pifft pifft pifft pifft "ARRRGH MY EYE" |
it gives them a chance to show off their e-penis and be elitist and look down on anyone who doesn't own the "real thing," or isn't as completely tactical as they are, I'm not sure I've ever seen any of the real high speed members of this site bother bashing airsoft, could be wrong though |

I rent my woods out to airsofters to host skirmishes. They come, pay good money, work hard to improve my setup for me, are respectful and have a good time. They don't think they're real soldiers, they're just young guys having fun playing a game that resembles combat. I'd rather have them on my land than some fatass, uptight blowhard gun snob who thinks the world hangs on his opinions about what is cool and what's not. That fucktard, btw, would be the one to tear up the place and act as I should be grateful he came to shoot at my place. I'm beginning to like Airsofters more and more, and gun snobs less and less. |

Wow, airsoft really is today's "in" topic. I just did a Google search for "airsoft" and was amazed at how much stuff there is out there. Evidently, this is a very popular hobby, as there are tons of sites that sell airsoft shit. Here are some of the guns I found: www.airsoftextreme.com/store.html Pretty realistic looking toys if you ask me! I'd have killed for some of those when I was a kid. Of course my parents would have likely killed me when they saw the price had they existed. |
I had $1300 in my AutoCocker..... You just dont have to pay $60+ a box of paintballs. $15 for a bag of 3000 BB's |
Sweet chiba! AEX is opening a store in San Diego! I might have to drop by their grand opening for old times sake. I haven't played in about two and a half years but I've got an SR-16 that I fucked up the internals on and an LR-300 that is in sore need of a mechbox. |
| I acually entertained the thought of using airsoft as a training tool a while back. Use of cover, concealment target aquisition, ect. Realistic looking weapons with similar ergonomics as the real thing. Sounded like a decent force on force training tool. But the more I thought about it, the less appealing it became. Muscle memory is very important when in a stressful situation and by instinct I want to be checking the chamber and magazine of my weapon if and when it goes down, not checking to see if my battery died. |
So you're saying you've decided to train by shooting at live moving targets with live weapons then?
|

I've no issue with people's passtimes. Airsoft is a good training tool when used correctly. Usual arguments are: "Bushes don't deflect bullets" No. Really? They DO deflect MILES lasers the .mil uses. That's where OCs come into play. If it's just kids running around, poseing, and, having a good time..... Why is it such a big deal? I agree weapons respect should be delt with.... But that's not the issue with most here. Not most people anyway. Everyone on this board is uber tactical and wears all the latest 5.11 stuff... Airsofters don't wear 5.11. I think that's the main issue. I can't really tell. The antipathy is just so strong noone really knows.... It's like rats hitting the feeder bar. |
Speedball (brightly colored clothes and shooting lots of rounds, in an artificial barrier setting) has its place in the scheme of things. Specifically it works well on TV, and is sponsor-friendly. Tournaments have near totally shifted to the format. It's also a lot of fun, and you can get lots of play time in in a day, since even if you're nailed you can be back in the game in a few minutes. Another advantage is that with the advent of netting and inflatable bunkers, fields can be quickly set up just about anywhere. |

First off- NOT THIS SHIT AGAIN ![]() Second- Instead of always making fun of the kids playing Airsoft(asshats aside) why dont we try to turn them into REAL gun owners, we need all the Pro-Gunners we can get and bashing them will only alienate them(like I said asshat retards aside) Think about it

Maybe an AK
