What kind of problems after this last update are you having? Custom ROM's FTW! This. At first I didn't want to go through the trouble of doing that to my phone. Eventually I had to do something because the performance went to shit. Every update just made things worse. Putting Cyanogen on my old Motorola Droid brought it back to life. |

Still waiting on T-Mobile to get 2.3 out for the original Galaxy/Vibrant. I've given up trying to root this phone. Just like anything linux based, it is so overly complex and 'unique' that it takes all the fun out of fiddling with it. Tmo has given up on the Vibrant, so the only hope is to root & install cyanogen. Sadly I've had a harder time trying to install cyanogen on my phone than I did with my G1. |

I have tried many approaches to rooting it, and have been unsuccessful. It seems even the 'community' has moved on from it, all the root files I find are old, and not working anymore. It appears the only way to root it is to flash it back to 2.1 and use those tools. However, with my luck so far, I don't want to flash it back just to find those rootkits are just as old and unusable as the 2.2 ones are. Very Frustrating experience. |

Verizon pushed GB onto my stock Thunderbolt a few weeks ago. While never being terribly reliable before, after the update, the phone wouldn't connect to play music on my stereo.
That was the straw that broke the camel's back. Rooted it. It took mush less than an hour. Battery life is much better, even though I'm running at like 1.8ghz. Perfectly. I'll say it again- with a Cyanogen ROM, everything works PERFECTLY. No lag. No crashes. I'm a little pissed I had to hack my phone to get it to work properly. |

What kind of problems after this last update are you having? Post specifics. Updates vary by carrier and phone model. Verizon may put out an update that Sprint doesn't, for example. Asking if someone has the new Android update is like asking someone what they think of that new car with the internal combustion engine. |
