Good on you for helping.
Every now and then it's ok to not myob.

Good on you for stepping up and not myob. Next shot could have not only hurt someone but also driven someone away from ever shooting again.

I always view reloads like underwear, never use some one else's.

Edit for spelling

I NEVER let anyone shoot my reloads. They have been created by me alone and I should be the one to pay for my screw ups should one occur.

Good catch OP, definitely could have ended bad.

I also never let anyone shoot my reloads other than the 7.7 Jap rounds I make for a friend, but only because they're nearly impossible to find. When I load those I'm overly cautious and triple check everything.

Great job,  OP.

Good work looking out for less experienced shooters.

I've only had one squib in my life, but they happen and I believe it's a good thing we remind the community about them often.

BP, or trailboss?  LOL.  I almost got the kiddo into reloading with TrailBoss just because it was almost unfuckupable.

A guy next to me was shooting an AK pistol and had a squib.  He immediately jacked in another round and I took cover.  Luckily it was just past the chamber and would not fully chamber another round.  He did this a couple times before laying down the rifle.  I then approached and told him to borrow a dowel from range staff and clear the squib.  He was clueless up until that point.

Works for me, but mostly when I use pistol powders in rifle cartridges.  Varget was expensive and hard to find so I went with tight group.  How come dryflash gets upset when I try to tell everyone your one cool trick in the reloading forum?

I believe this is where I'm at after what I saw today. I need to go buy some factory stuff to keep on hand.

Beware of factory ammo too. I was shooting with an experienced fellow the other day who was using some older US manufacture ammo and he had three squibs in a box of 50.

After the first he was pointing down range waiting to ensure no hang fire when I mentioned no to pull the trigger or cycle the action and shoot again. Wasn't sure I needed to mention it, but better safe than sorry.
