Whats the best anti virus program out there? I had nortons 2004 but it slowed the laptop big time. I just reformatted and want to hear about other options.

And what else should I get to protect myself?

The McAfee stuff works alright. Any of them can cause "issues" depending on the software/os/hardware you run. I've had no problems with the newest mcafee product though. Updates are transparent, and can be scheduled to run daily.

Try Norton Corperate edition client......very low overhead... just pick the unmanged option when you install it....

I like the McAfee AV for my home computers but I've had good luck with the Norton Corp stuff on my laptops too.

Kaspersky...only ONE process/service, smallest memory footprint, lowest CPU overhead of all Enterprise-level A/V applications. All of the others out there have three or more processes running.

The only downside to Kaspersky is that it is fairly expensive.

I use AVG Anitvirus 7.0 Professional with excellent results.
