When I was a kid fell out of a tree while building a paintball fort and landed on a log. Not only that, but I had to hike several miles out of the woods to get back home. It was fun explaining to the doctor that I fell on a log. Most recently though, from a boxing match. Since my ribs are still F'd up from previous injuries, several of my ribs can dislodge pretty easily. That is not fun. It's fun isn't it? Hurts to breathe, sit, stand, lay down. Try getting into a swimming pool. That will about make you cry. |

Dude that farkin sucks, I wish you speedy healing. I broke the tips of three ribs and tore the cartilage around them and it took an honest to God six months before I felt totally better. And its been a few months past that and when I twist just right or do something the wrong way, it feels like Chuck Norris just round house kicked me in the ribs for a moment or two.
I feel for you man, I know that hurts. |

Thanks for the kind words.
I managed to get up and walk a little today. It felt pretty good to get out. What really sucks is, that I was going to work on my rifle range at the farm this weekend. I'll have to put that off until fall I guess. I'm going back to work Friday if I feel better. Damn this sitting around the house is getting old. |

3 broken ribs. Broken scapula. Broken collar bone.
All on my right side. I stopped taking the vicoden because the pain was so bad I didn't think it was doing anything. Oh, it was working. The most intense pain I have ever experienced. ETA: I expect you will be sleeping in a chair for at least a few weeks. Try not to drool on yourself as much as I did. Good luck and get better. |

When I had my little array of broken bones, my body completely shut down with respect to coughing or sneezing. I lived in fear for a while, and then realized that I never even came close to a cough or a sneeze. It lasted probably three to four weeks. Quite a few people ended up feeling really bad if they made me laugh, though. Man that hurt. |
