I had eset nod32 on my computer.

I used the add and delete programs function to delete it and its still showing up on my tray and still active.

I have turned off the computer and rebooted it with no effect.

It almost acting like a virus itself.

Any suggestions?

I'm not really a Windows guy and never used NOD32, but here goes some generic instructions:

Stop it from running:
Windows' safe mode disables most startup programs, usually allowing you to manually delete the program.

In most versions of Windows there's a program called msconfig that will allow you to disable most programs and services from running at startup. Click Start (bottom left, normally), then Run, then type "msconfig", the last couple columns are Services and Startup. Unclick anything ESET or NOD32 related. (On the off chance that the program re-enables itself, some crapware does, doing this under safe mode sometimes helps.)

If msconfig isn't available, this can be done manually through the registry, but I'll skip the instructions for now.

Delete the program: It's probably somewhere like "C:\Program Files\ESE" by default; move that entire folder to the trash. When the program is running it probably won't let you, so follow the above instructions first.

try CCleaner download

Use it to uninstall the software. Then run the cleaners. It will remove all old un-needed registry entries.

Either kill it with fire or spray it with diesel fuel, that seems to be the arfcom solution to anything you want to get rid of
