i have two coworkers who are both california transplants. They both worship Uncle Bernie and everything he stands for, they both talk shit on guns and gun owners constantly and are advocates of pretty much any gun control measure you can think of.

and i recently found out (through another coworker) that they both own at least one gun.

Report them to HR, tell them that you feel threatened by their conversations and want immediate relief.

Your co-workers aren't insane.  They hold the belief that they are better than the average citizen (maybe true) and while they trust themselves with firearms, they don't trust the average person.

After interacting with people and reading stories about the absolutely idiotic things people do, it's hard to disagree with them.  Especially when you consider how hard it is to teach people supposedly interested in guns how to safely handle guns...    The conclusion that most people shouldn't own guns isn't difficult to arrive that.  That being said, it becomes an ideological issue.  I still think people should be able to own guns, even though I think most of them shouldn't do so, and that's because I don't like the government restricting freedom without a damn good reason.

That's not insane. That's hypocrisy, a common trait of the liberal progressive.
