| Nukes? No. I don't think even a Republican of any sort would retaliate with nukes. Sustained leveling of the country with conventional munitions, absolutley. And the US wouldn't even need to "ask permission" from the UN, as we'd have to wait in line behind the rest of the free world to bomb them. |

Under this president no. Israel would likely retalliate as it is unlkely Iran could get all of Israel in one or coordinated blast.
All that would come from our dear leader is a limp condemnation of what was left of Iran. The Israelis would likely nuke Syria and Pakistan and possibly others on the way out too. |
| I wonder if the US would ever use a nuclear weapon against another country again. They're nothing more than a deterent now. I think the only circumstance we'd pull that trigger would an immediate response to an all out nuclear launch from another super power against us. Anything short of that, I'd say a snow ball's chance in hell. |

Iraq will probably VERY glad they're under US protection if Israel gets nuked. They'll probably be the only country in the Middle East that's not glowing in the dark the next day. |

Why nuke Iran after the fact? They'd have a very limited number of nukes. If you carpet bomb their nuke sites (like we don't know where those are) then they're pretty much back to being a non-nuclear power. Then you can go in like we did in Iraq. Oh wait, this is ARFCOM, killing an unborn fetus is murder, but nuking an entire population because of their idiot leader is acceptible. |

| Doesn't matter who the President is....not a chance. Israel has their own nuclear deterrent (though I'm not sure if the Iranian Death Cult can be deterred), and would absolutely use it in retaliation for a nuclear attack on their own country. I think there is a chance that Israel might use them in a conventional war if their back was against the wall. |

I'm surprised with the responses. I think it would be pretty much guaranteed.
If you all (we wouldn't defend Israel with nukes if they were nuked first) are correct, than it is much clearer to me why Israel would launch an attack now regardless of broader consequences. |

I think if a nuke goes off in Israel odds are better that it came from (stolen) Pakistan, than Iran. Something tells me the Israelis would not bother to source it anyway. |
