Anything is better than AOL.  They suck the shit-covered cock of satan.

Oh, and even though you cancelled, check your credit card statement - chances are they'll keep charging you.

do you still have dial up?!  wtf is wrong with you lol.  a phone line and internet costs as much as broadband.

AOL has sucked ever since they first started competing with they're rival and Webcrawler was the best search engine in the world.

ok ok all joking asside Charter and comcast are great.

otherwise if your truely looking for dial up just look in your local phone book and find whatever is the cheapest local guy.

Will do.

My wife had hell cancelling... I told her to tell them that ourPC caught fire and we couldn't afford another one. They still gave her shit. Good thing she can be obstinate as hell.

I have actually seen one case where AOL confirmed that the account was cancelled yet kept billing the CC.  They were even sued for that as well.

I thought WebTV was created to give AOL users something to look down at.

They'll call back, and take some stupid fucking survey.  At the end, they basically tell you that unless YOU call THEM back again, they'll resume your service.

At least that's what the tried years ago when our company maintained some dial-up accounts for traveling employees and AOL was the only game in town.

12 months IIRC. DL speed is 1.5-3 MbS(IIRC)

Blue Frog - 5.99 a month (Dial-up)

People PC - 10.99 a month (Dial-up)

DSL - 29.99 a month ("Broadband")

Cable - 45.99-49.99 a month (Broadband)

I would stay the hell away from dial-up I mean DSL is a decent alternative if you have the money to shell out every month.  If not then Blue Frog is good.  My friend had it for a few years.

I've heard that NetZero is at least as good as any other dialup service.  Cheap too.

ditching AOL... need suggestions for replacement

1) find a long rusty nail.
2) Place nail on forehead, between both eyes.
3) Using a light hammer, begin tapping the nail inward.
4) Once you reach bone, really start whaling down on the nail with the hammer
5) AOL simulation should commence
6) if you're having trouble feeling the full AOL experience, repeat said process with a spoon up your ass.
