I have seen some nice double barrels that are on the short side and not very expensive at one of the local shops, don't remember who the manufacturer is. They look pretty sweet.

I have a Mossbergy 590y. It's probably a little big for what you want, but I like it a lot. It's my go-to homey defensey gunny. I load it with sluggy or buckshotty.
