I found this interesting WWII photograph for auction on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2123658106 I was interested in possibly buying it, and wanted to make sure it was not a newpaper clipping, but a real photograph. It's difficult to tell sometimes from eBay listings. So I had the following exchange of humorous emails with the seller: ME: Hello, Is this a photograph or a clipping from a newspaper? Can't tell from your listing. Thanks. HIM: please re--read and even again please!!!! Charles E. Snyder, Jr., Major, USAF (Retired) ME: No need to be a prick, fella. A simple yes or no would have sufficed. One can not always trust listings to be accurate. HIM: & fuck off 2 U fella!! Guess I won't be bidding on this item. [rolleyes] |

Quoted: I just sent him an email asking if it was an authentic picture....I think the whole AR15.com army should ask him [:D] An excellent idea! In fact he invites questions. Please use my email address to contact me directly if you have any questions. By all means post some of the replies. Here's mine! Is that a REAL photograph or a newspaper clipping? Also the only real "Garand With Bayonet Armed GI" isnt helping! Are you sure the one holding out his hand isnt carrying a carbine? That buttplate looks kind of small to me. I would hate to buy a photograph of "Garand With Bayonet Armed GI" helping, and then find out I had bought a newspaper clipping of some looey with a carbine! That will teach him to mess with Marvl! |

"cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2123658106 So, like, dude, like is this thing, like, for real? Is it an actual photographic print, or like, some scuzzy newpaper clipping? I mean, whoa, far out-the thing is really friggin trippy! I'm prepared to bid, like, a total a$$load of money if it's for real, but if it's a clipping, call it kwitz, d00d." [:D] I suspect he's gonna get real tired of this soon.[;D] Juggernaut |

Quoted: Heeeeeeeere we go..... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2123607229 If ebay thinks it is ok, I hope the mods here do. Here is my question to the guy... "Are the girls in this photo over the age of 18? You're not R Kelly by any chance are you? Is this all the girlie pics you have? You don't have any of any French chicks do you?" Now awaiting a response... |

Heres my latest! Are you sure those Jap girls are over 18? I might buy that one if I could be sure, but I cant take the chance of getting busted for kiddie porn and getting my pornograph confiscated! Do you have any other porn of maybe Vietnam girls? PS: Is that a REAL picture? Or is it cut out of a newspaper? |

I just asked him: regarding item # 2123607229 Is the picture in color or black and white. Depending on your scanner who knows?- from my perspective. I like pink nipples- he he he |

Quoted: Stay away from Charlie Snyder, he is a known rip-off artist of WWII items. |

I just got a response from my question. My questions: Hello, the term "Period News Photograph" is somewhat confusing. Is this a photograph taken for a newspaper or is this a clipping of a photograph from a newspaper. His answer: the words you are confused over mean just that.. this is a period..ie ww2..news..ie used in a newspaper..from this photograph.....if still unclear please call and we can discuss... Followed by some contact info including "Major, USAF (Retired)" behind his name. You be the judge. |
