I didn't realize that you got you dose of nicotine from them (is that a healthy drug?). . Kinda like the guy who eats caffeine pills instead of drinking coffee?

Nicotine is on about on par with caffeine. Nicotine alone is not really "bad" for you. E-cigs can easily get you off of smoking cigarettes, and if you want, you can slowly lower the nicotine level of the juice you're using, to kick the nic addiction entirely after awhile. It's a million times cheaper than smoking, you don't smell like shit, and you feel a million times better. There's really no downside. So if that's "a really stupid thing" to you, then so be it. |

Kinda like the guy who eats caffeine pills instead of drinking coffee? I am down from about a pack a day to maybe 1-2 once I got my ecig up and running. Company even comp'd me the cost to get all the gear as part of our wellness program at work. I could probably be off cigarettes completely if I could shake my morning routine. Vaping just isn't the same starting the day. But it works for the rest of the time.

Nicotine delivery without all the nasty stink and cancer. They have plenty of those already. I think it's more about looking cool. http://mojosavings.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/nicorettemini.jpg Patches, lozenges and other cessation aids are great and all, but there is something about the sensation of smoking that they don't cover. A lot of people miss that and that is why they go back to cigarettes. Some people continue to smoke liquid with no nicotine after cutting their nicotine levels down because of the sensation and flavor. |

Then they stopped making the 4mg version. ![]() The deal with e-cigs is having the ability to slowly reduce the nicotine content of the e-juice. |

The OTC products may help or replace the physiological addiction to the nicotine, but they do nothing for the habit or psycological part of smoking. Vaping seems to do both. Plus chicks dig it....especially when they think you quit the cigarettes for them. mm |

has anybody done any reserch to see if these things are safe? what chemicals are in them? who does the QC? any long term studies on health effects?
from what i understand, anyone can make/mix it in their store without any regulation. i am not slamming the users as i used to smoke cigs, but i really wonder what is in that shit. |

Propylene glycol (think smoke machine at a rock concert, same stuff) nicotine, water and flavor. some also use vegetable glycerin insted of Propylene glycol or in a 40/60 blend |

Typical e juice is made from propylene glycol, glycerin, nicotine and food grade flavoring. Reputable vendors disclose the origins of their ingredients and the purity. End users are free to pick their liquids based upon the available information... The way it is supposed to work in a free market. |

Some people have looked at my E-cig and told me it is a crutch. I agree, but it's also a crutch that doesn't cause cancer, so I'm cool with that. That hasn't been proven and many say it still can, do you remember when cocaine was thought to be safe at first? |

IIRC, the PV / VG is classed by the FDA as food additives. I suppose the best I could say is that E-cigs don't contain known carcinogens. |

I do find myself reaching for my device less and less. Maybe it's the same way a child grows out of using a pacifier or carrying around a blanket or stuffed animal all the time. ETA: Pacifier is the correct term. I do find myself comforted by just having it in my hand whether or not I want to vape at that time or not. mm |

We have several vapor stores in my area that are popular hang outs for kids.
Since its only a infraction to sell them to kids and the stores sell them for $35.00 (cheap ones) to $450.00 (custom) i guess its worth the risk to sell to teenagers. http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/cgi-bin/displaycode?section=hsc&group=119001-120000&file=119405 |

I guess you are one of those people who likes "personal responsibility" too. Lack of will power = weak I have no problem admitting that I didn't have the testicles to just quit smoking cold turkey. Tried a bunch of times, half-assed. Never really put 100% effort into it. But e-cigs did it for me, so I can't complain. Is it a cheater way to quit smoking? Maybe. But it works, so I'll live with that. |

Never, no matter what. On top of the fact that they like to use shitty Chinese liquid for tests, and not one of the bazillion US-made juices. |
