| The last year or so when at the range shooting if I look through the scope or try to line up iron sights on rifles or hand guns my vission starts fading to almost black. Anybody got an idea what going on? Hell I am going on 61 getting old sucks. |

I had a detached retina once. Doc expressly told me to not shoot high pressure cartridges, and only pistols, until my eye healed. He said that the pressure on the eye can cause damage to an already injured eye.
He also mentioned in passing that detached retinas can happen with age as well as trauma. |

It may not be your age, just your body position. |
| Shotgunner patient had to quit shooting (he refused to). Something about the optic nerve severing while shooting? Been a few years. I'd been after him for a handful of years to stop wearing his hearing aids when shooting and wear actual hearing protection; but he was a stubborn old fuck. Before I moved; he was to the point of being blind, permanently, in one eye (with failing eyesight in the other eye) and could no longer understand speech. He just wouldn't listen, to anyone. |
