Why do I see a FMTV buried to the frame in the future?

How many 88's will it take to pull both of them out?

First thing I noticed is that the FRONT wheels of that HEMTT aren't dug in at all, which leads me to believe that the vehicle is either dead-lined because the 8x8 isn't working, or the operator is a DUMB ASS and didn't try the diff-lock. Granted I spent most of my time in M985's, but I assume that these new-fangled A4 versions have all the same goodies on them, right?

ETA: It's possible that the HEMTT shown is equiped with a Self Recovery Winch, in which case that FMTV could be acting as an anchor point to give it just a little boost out. I've seen much more stuck HEMTT's get out on their own with a GOOD operator, but I've also seen seemingly un-stuck trucks take a HEMTT wrecker and an M-88 to get unstuck.

Getting stuck is an equal opportunity event... however it does seem to favor the fairer of the sexes at times doesn't it

The most buried we ever got a truck was this PLS. It was a seemingly dry area, but for some reason this swampy hole popped out of the middle of nowhere for another guy while we were out clearing ranges. Everything had already been to the wash rack and was ready for turn in when we got the call. This sucker was down past the axles and just kept sinking. We tried one, than two PLS's, then a HEMTT wrecker and a PLS, then finally we added an M-88 to the end (not pictured) before we finally tugged it out. In this case it was a male driver, but we never let him live it down.
