It is friggin' awesome. Some jobs that used to be a pita get done with no effort. Built like a tank and (I have the master kit) the dust collection and profile sanding is great. Their patent has expired so there are knock offs from 4 or 5 different manufacturers. Probably will be a few years before they are as good though. A couple of them use the same style for the blades so hopefully that will bring the price down a bit which is my only complaint. It is one of my top 5 must-have tools. |

It is a very expensive fantastic tool.
I have had one for about three years and it is built like a tank. Like others have said the blades are expensive I've gone through over $200 in blades this month alone The knockoffs would be good for occasional use but for a business I would buy the real thing |

I've read a lot about this topic from a lot of people. I'd characterize it this way.
A professional user can buy the Fein unit and probably justify it. Even they complain about the high cost of the blades. A professional user will also be well served with one of the less expensive units, possibly even by the Harbor Freight units, because they are as little as one tenth the cost. The non-Fein blades are also a lot less expensive. They are so inexpensive a pro can keep two on hand, just in case one goes belly up. Personally, I do not understand the trend towards battery powered tools, so I'd say get one with a cord. |

I got the harbor freight version, and i'm a professional. At the cost of about $35 its disposable. It paid for itself 2x over the first day that i used it. The harbor freight blades that come with it are ok, but the replacement blades are junk. I think the bosch blades might fit, but the dremmel version blades dont. It does everything i need it to do, mostly things involving cutting trim when installing tile and flooring. |

Bought a Dremel a while back when Wife and I were redoing our front porch. Total crap - blade kept vibrating loose and falling off - shitty blade mounting design IMO. Returned with no remorse.
Did some interwebs research and ended up buying the Rockwell Sonicrafter and couldn't be happier. Much, much less than the Fein, blades and attachments are cheaper, etc. but it is a GREAT tool. Disclaimer: I'm not a contractor, but I am "Harry Frikkin' Homeowner" and like quality tools - the Rockwell unit has served me well. Will be using it tomorrow to get some precise cuts on baseboards in the Family room to run some flat speaker cable up from the basement for a pair of rear-surround speakers. With anything tool related, YMMV

| Great tool, but the crappy over-priced blades leave me pissed off whenever I use it. The Bi-Metal blades will self destruct after cutting one nail or screw, unlike a Sawz-All blade that will will cut through all that stuff without rounding over the teeth. Nice $34 lesson. |
