| How long did people stay sore for? I'm a fatass had it yesterday morning and stuff can't bend over. pain pills are fucking up my thinking I keep eating one thing at a time in a random area of my house. |
I felt it for about a week after. One side effect I've had since, especially right after surgery, is if I eat anything greasy or with caffine for the first meal of the day, I'm running to find a toilet within 15 min  Been told its because the gall bladder filters out fat so without it, well no filtering

I was down for about 3 days with mine, of course I was almost opened all teh way up from what my surgeon told me. I was kept overnight because of teh time I was under, the 1st thing I noticed in recovery was that it was several hours later than what they told me what it would take The biggest pain for me was the gas used in my gut, as soon as I could fart that out things went lots better. I took a week off work and then had 2 weeks light duty but didn't really need more than a couple of days of L.D. |
| I think I missed a week of work when I had mine taken out several years ago. They kept me overnight due to the longer then normal time it took for my surgery. As far as I can tell, it's removal hasn't affected me at all. I don't think I even took any of the pain meds they gave me a prescription for, but I was very sore during that week off from work. |

My wife had gallbladder surgery yesterday too. She can't bend over and has pain. Thank goodness for pain pills. |

I would say man up and quit the pain meds because they will fuck you up worse than the abdominal pain. This, been there done that After a few days of pain meds, try and only use them at night to get some sleep if really needed. Quicker you get up and start moving around like normal the quicker you will heal

Meh... as a long-time back pain sufferer the only thing hydros really do for me any more is occasionally stop me up so bad that I forget about the original pain that I took them for.

As I sit and read this I am at a surgery center with my daughter and she us having her gall bladder out.
I had mine out 8 years ago. In/out in 1 hour, four(4) holes, steri stripes, no stitches. I used no pain meds. I am told my daughter will get one(1) hole and done deal in 45 minutes. I will post if any different than that. |
