I'm away from home for the first time in my life. My father's birthday is coming up, and I want to send him something good this year. Unfortunately I can't be there and probably won't be seeing him until after a trip to Afghanistan, so I plan to hand make him a card in addition to whatever else I can think of. That isn't going to be a problem. The hard part is going to be finding a gift to send him.

Before I left I got him into ARs, and in fact we got consecutive serialed Noveskes just in the nick of time. He is into shooting and CCs an HK 45 that he adores. I know something gun related would be a homerun, and he has been looking for a nice holster for that pistol for quite some time. Other than that he is into high end audio equipment and computer hardware. I know his interests well, but I am on a PV2 budget, which makes things sort of difficult.

I'm betting there are plenty of Dads out there that can lend me some input, and it would be much appreciated.

Ammo, when you care enough to send the very best. My dad loves to get ammo, who wouldn't?

I'm a dad, and I approve of this message.

Bottom line though, best present you can give him is a card with some honest thoughts and to do your work/life so it makes him proud.

Definitely consider the gift of ammo, but the card itself will be a home run.
