I'm thinking about getting a bigger one. Does anyone have one with a electric lock? Are they as secure as the regular combination lock? I'm thinking about a "redhead" from Basspro shops. What do you guys think?

You always need a bigger safe.  I've heard mixed reviews about the electronic locks here.  They seem to be quicker to get into instead of turning the dial though.

I'm sort of shopping for safe number 2 myself.  Since Bass Pro is about 20 minutes from my house, I need to drive down there and take a look.

I've had a top-of-the line Canon safe for about ten years. The electric locks are hundreds of times faster than dials - I can hit my seven digit combo in about 3 seconds. This makes it easier to open and close the thing as needed. There are 7 to the 10th power combinations or more than 28 million. After a handful of wrong attempts the lock gets "mad" and makes you wait for the reset. I changed the battery a couple of years ago. According to Canon the lock works for a long long time without the battery. I've likely opened and closed the safe tens of thousands of times and there is zero wear on the key pad and you can't tell the seven numbers from the three that I don't use.

In the event of a nuclear EMP attack I'll have enough time to open the safe before the xombies para-drop.

I like electronic locks.

IMO go with a S&G electronic lock if at all possible.

Another plus for the keypad is that it is very easy to change the combo.
on most dial safes you can't but on a few you can change the combo.

I have had both Dial and Keypad....I like the Pad better.  YMMV

Edit because: an "H" looked like a "G"

The ease of use makes me give the nod to the electronic safe too.

I like the S+G electronic locks, I do not like the cheaper ones put on cheaper safes.
