| I would like to add a camera system to my house. I am thinking of having the recording system away from the house maybe set up in my detach carport or go with an online storage sytem. What would be the best way to have your video stored/saved. If anything was to happen here the chances are I would not be home. I am starting to increase my security at home by keeping every thing locked. Pain in the ass when I am outside and I need to go to the backyard and no keys on me but worth it. I am thinking more in the line of motion dectection than just video streaming. What do you think? |

Unless you have a decent amount of upload-direction bandwidth, you'll want to have your security DVR located in your home (you can always hide/secure it). Unless you're a company with dedicated leased lines, it probably isn't practical to have a true online system. Most security DVRs can be set up to record only when there is motion, but make sure before you buy. -Troy |
