Many of those are intentional groundings. The rest is just stupidity.

Most were intentionally done.  Look up ship breakers in india.

Groundings were intentional as part of a scrapping process.



The others were most likely power loss or human error, or failure to follow right of way

Several of those were intentional. They were ship scrap yards.
