well ,for sure it looks like the wrong time to get the ar bug––-went with a friend to the range to shoot––-that did it! had no idea of the versatility, accuracy, etc etc of these guns. bought a lower and built it that week, ordered an upper from one of the above suppliers, REALISTICALLY, do ya think this panic buying will cool and the manufactures will catch up or am i really lookin' at 4 or more months till i get the "rest of the story" i don't think the feds can move that fast to screw with the 2ed amendment and i can maybe borrow an upper now and then––-anyway, your thoughts, good news or bad, would be appreciated .

That's the thing –– nobody really knows. At this point, it's all speculation.  There seem to be few distinct schools of thought on the subject here... 1) Some form of gun control will happen under Obama for sure, and soon. 2) Some form of gun control will happen under Obama, but probably not right away. 3) Some form of gun control might happen under Obama, but it isn't likely with everything else that's going on. 4) The Dems have learned their lesson re: gun control and will not attempt it. ... and variations thereof. I regard #4 as very naive, and #3 only slightly less so. I woul describe myself as somewhere between #1 and #2, with my personal opinion that it willhappen as soon as they have a high-profile media tragedy to use as a convenient excuse to push it through. But that is all just my opinion/conjecture, nothing more. My sincere hope is that, if there is to be any action, it will be delayed and the panic buying (and prices) will have a chance to slow down for at least a while, for new enthusiasts just like you. It's a bad time to just be discovering this addiction, but it might be better now than later.
