Are any other iPhone users having tons of issues with the new OS? My wifi doesn't work anymore, there are a bunch of apps that crash almost constantly, the new app store layout is stupid, there are a few cool new features but nothing ground breaking, I really want to go back to iOS 5.1.1 and have spent the better part of the day trying to figure out how to do it, but so far all of the methods (downloading an old ipsw and restoring in iTunes) have failed. I get some weird error that says it can't communicate with the Apple servers to verify the install, YET when I reinstall iOS 6 it magically has no issues contacting the server, almost as if Apple is deliberately preventing people from downgrading back to iOS 5.
This is the first time I've been completely dissatisfied with my iPhone since I got a 3GS over two years ago, they need to get off of their asses and release a version 6.1 that fixes these bugs, fucking yesterday.

Tried 'em, I liked the ubiquity and user interface of the iPhones, but this is not OK at all. |

Apple will not let you downgrade. They stopped letting you when ios3 came out. They know what's best for you. Try this. Downgrading isn't "supported". That doesn't mean it can't be done, and that link has some tips for dealing with the issues you're having. |

No issues here, but they did delete the youtube app which pissed me off some. I have a feeling that I will have issues soon though, this phone has been a headache for me. Download Google's youtube app to replace it. Same thing with maps, there should be a Google maps app out soon as well. |

He'll get a server error. |

It works fine, people have done it. Apple will block it in a few days, but they're not right now. |

the new map system is fucking dog balls.
Its almost impossible to get anywhere with all the different new ways that you can manipulate the map. Its always going into 3D mode and turning the map instead of keeping it facing north. Also, i cant get the street level view anymore anywhere no matter what i try.... Any advice on that or do i just wait for the google maps app? |

What I would do personally (I haven't upgraded, but if I had) would be to use maps.google.com until Google's app shows up in the app store. It's rumoured to actually have been submitted for approval, so I would expect it soon. |

...but look on the bright side; you can drop it on the floor and the phone won't come apart like a Samsung Galaxy S3 Funny, I've dropped my S3 on the ground (including concrete) a few times already. Still kicks ass and makes zombie jobs cry like a whiny bitch

Quoted: I'm having trouble with maps.....can't figure out the directions function. Haven't really looked at it too hard yet but it doesn't seem intuitive. You press the direction arrow. One of three buttons on the screen. ![]() I've had no problems, but I've always been adept at problem solving.

Apples lockdown feature was implemented in this iOS. They are able to remotely lock down any part of your phone, listen to calls, see texts, etc. Big brother at its finest. I downgraded yesterday, more because I was haveing problems with the firmware. Apple stopped signing 5.1.1 firmware two days ago so you will not be able to downgrade your firmware that way any longer. If you want to downgrade you'll have to use redsnOw to do so, also you will have to have saved your SHSH blobs to stitch to the older 5.1.1 firmware in order to downgrade.
Apple's new system "lockdown" begins in iOS6 It is true that Apple had a very basic "lockdown" system for apps, where they could easily "remove" an app remotely from an iDevice without the user knowing of the app was ever a security risk back in the iPhone OS 2.0 release. Now, Apple is going beyond their scope and now able to lockdown your ENTIRE device or a feature at a time (even your camera). Well, to freak you out even more, your iOS 6 device is now dependent on Apple's servers 24/7 whenever you're connected to the internet. You remember when Apple said they were "moving to the cloud" right? Well they really meant it and it's coming at a cost of your freedom and privacy. Recently everybody who had updated to iOS 6 could NOT connect to the Internet, because one of Apple's server was down. Why would WE rely on Apple's server to connect to the Internet? More importantly, why werent we able to connect to the Internet without a request from the server? In my opinion, this is a new lockdown system that will absolutely be able to lockdown every aspect of your device, think of it as "Find my IPhone" running 24/7 behind Apple's "trusty" supervisors. For now, only Wi-Fi had been disabled but I'm sure it'll be possible to remotely wipe, listen and receive messages and calls without your consent when the time comes. Quoted: Nope. my 4s is running like a champ on iOS6 Same here and I'm on AT&T. Had a few apps that would crash occasionally but you always get that with a new iOS, until they are updated. Just about every app I use on a daily basis has been updated, in less than a week, and is ruining fine.

There are 100's of youtube apps, none that I can see from Google and none like it was before. Btw, like someone said earlier, the new store sucks. |
