so i'm currently on my way from fort myers, fl to kalamazoo, mi for a wedding. this is only my third time flying last time being 2007. going through TSA was stressful as all hell, then me and the gf wait for the plane to board for an hour while sitting next to a screaming child.
and when we got onboard, we realized after looking at a seating chart the guy at the desk gave us literally the worst seats on the airplane (i was wondering why he was smirking at us when we said row 20 was fine). seats dont recline and we have no leg room at all because we are in front of an emergency exit. this thing is small as hell too, a boeing 717-200 but fuck at least i have wi-fi. i mean it could be worse. i could have to go 3 hours without arfcom.

I have to fly once a month for work. TSA SUCKS...... i feel for you. that has got to be awful. i haven't flown in a while, i mean last time i did i just walked through a metal detector and that was it. now you gotta have liquids in a bag and put them through the xray separate, shoes have to come off and go through, computer had to come out of the case. and the TSA people fucking rush the hell out of you which makes it way more stressful. and there's that new weird machine that i gotta lift my arms up in and i guess xrays my junk. |
| I like flying and think it's cool as long as the planes not jammed packed. When I was younger (early teens) I flew a lot once the Capt. let me sit in his chair and showed me all the controls, and the stewardess let me sit in first class when there was room. Other time I remember having a whole row of seats to myself so I could put pillows against the windows and use the seats like a bed. |
| i wouldve gladly drove, but its a 20 hour drive there and 20 back, and we would only be staying 1 day or so. and it cost about the same as the plane tickets to rent a car and get gas. so this way, its only a 3 hour flight, and we get to stay longer since we wont be using that time driving. |

Man I miss flying LOL. I have some good stories, one day I will post. Might make a good thread. Your worst flying experience. The drunk, the dust off, the hard, I mean very hard landing and on and on. Had one of these when I was a kid. Plane cracked in half behind me. Eastern airlines, Pensacola FL... I ride AMTRAK now.... ETA: FOUND IT |

No offence - but you sound like a fucking woman. i'm merely saying i dont enjoy going through the whole ordeal, neither do most on here apparently. am i whining alot about it? no, the whole thing could've gone better but oh well. i see threads about the tsa or flying once a week on here, and they're usually alot more hate filled or resentful than mine. |

+1
Flying is terrible. We flew quite a bit when I was a kid (Dad worked for the airlines) and it was fun. Free food and drinks, no checked bag fee, no micro seating and there was usually some open seating on the flight to stretch out in. Now, flying is worse than riding the bus. Every flight is packed, seats have shrunk in size, you pay for everything extra. I'm sure business and 1st class are fine but at what cost? |
| If I can drive it in day I always drive, then I can usually carry also. I HATE the idiot people at airports, they rush to get off the plane and then stand there blocking the gate saying "Where do we get our luggage?" Every friggin airport is built the same, you go down to the lower level. Plus there is usually a giant sign with arrows pointing down to BAGGAGE, Idiots. |

I quit flying once TSA shit got bad. If I can't drive....I ain't going. This is why I bought a suburban. I've made several road trips to NV from TX and loved it! FUCK the TSA! FUCK the airline industry for rolling over like a lapdog to the .gov! and Fuck AA for their Piss poor management and good luck with that merger with United...I'm sure that will go over real well with the flying public. |
|
LOL! If you think TSA is "stressful" try living in Israel and flying out of Ben Gurion as a non-Israeli, especially ten or so years ago. Let's see a TSA person strip search you and start asking you if you believe in god in a little back room at 4 in the morning. And then proceed to not only go through your luggage but disassemble everything in it and when finally done escort you personally through the ticket counter and put you onto the airplane. If they did that here you'd be on tv and have a lawer looking for cash. There it was just part of life.
Welcome to the future. |

United had enough drunk pilots to merge with Alcoholics Anonymous? |
