Pretty interesting how we seem to naturally segregate ourselves. Hit the add map labels button to see the names of places, streets, etc. |

Tells me what I already knew.
- "Minorities" are the majority in the larger urban areas. - Whites are the majority in the rural areas. - Hispanics are a huge part of the population in the Border States, the Southwest, and FL. But they are growing in population in all areas. Especially in Urban areas. - Black population is a large part of the South and Urban areas all over. - The Asian population is predominantly in CA, OR, and WA. Which is why when you look at a County level breakdown of the recent Presidential elections you see the urban areas are majority Blue. But the vast majority of the Country is red. The small Blue areas make up the vast majority of the population though. What's even more interesting is when you take individual Metro Areas and break them down by Zip Code or Election precincts. Then you see how segregated and divided of a society we are by choice. ETA: I've always been fascinated by Demographics. It's the inner nerd in me. |
