i know i havent been around much lately, so i might have missed it if it has been posed before

Much of that is spot on. I worked a gun store/range for several years, and many times I watched some guy teaching his wife to shoot with a Desert Eagle, .357 snubbie, or other totally inappropriate guns.  I'm trying to get my wife more interested in guns, but she never really liked them much. I took her shooting a few times, (very few) before she finally relented enough for me to get her one. I haven't quite convinced her to carry yet, but with the increasing crime in our area, (540 days until we leave here. Yay!) she is seriously starting to think about it. I found also that it is normally much easier for someone other than the husband/SO to teach women to shoot. There is usually less yelling, and more listening.  |
