I was just watching a rerun of over the limit on tru tv and a police officer had just pulled over a young man on a bike for not having a light on his bike and found a gun on him, they did all the normal stuff and when they went to clear the weapon the guy had his hi point loaded with HP's that appeared to be pdx-1's. the officer freaked out and went on and on about how hollow points were illegal and only available to law enforcement and military. Has anybody ever had problem with something like this whenever they've been pulled over.

I have been told HP's are illegal by a cop in FL during a traffic stop. He took the ammo and gave me my weapon back along with a ticket for a seatbelt violation. ![]() Shoulda told him to follow you to wal mart .... you had a line on a HUGE felony bust LOL the guy they had pulled over told the cop he bought them at wal mart and they said he was a liar. |

Your property was illegally seized due to a cop's ignorance of the law––the same law which they expect you to know and follow. As a cop, it pains me to hear these types of stories, and it pains me further that good folks don't speak up more loudly to contest these intrusions on their freedom. |

The only way that these officers are exposed is for citizens to speak up. I don't like telling 'bad cop' stories because it only fuels the conspiracy theorists but about 8 years ago there was a criminal with a badge that worked for a small town agency with 4-5 miles of interstate that ran through town. This shitbag would pull people over on the interstate and if a legal weapon was found or a CHL was displayed this shitbag would take the weapon and make up some BS story and tell the owner that the weapon 'came back stolen' or was being carried illegally. The shitbag would then offer to dispose of the weapon and not make a report to keep the person out of trouble and jail. This fuckstick would then keep the gun as his own. This went on for over 2 years before someone spoke up about their weapon being stolen. The fuckstick got prosecuted and is currently in prison. When the search warrant was run on his house this fuckstick had over 40 firearms. This pile of shit worked in a town about 10 minutes from me and I had met him a couple of times when multi-agency ops were being conducted. |

Statute of limitations is up on it now and it was only 8 or 9 rounds IIRC. Petty theft. |

The prohibition is against carrying them..you can buy them, possess them in your home, shoot them at the range, but if you commit a crime with them in your possession, it's an add-on charge. Even retired LE who have carry permits can;t carry HP ammunition. Federal's EFMJ has become the de facto "Retirement Round" for us. |
